Norafin GmbH and Lenzing AG have joined forces to develop an innovative, sustainable plate filtration solution using LENZING™ Lyocell fibers as a biodegradable alternative to synthetic filter materials. These 100% cellulose-based fibers decompose naturally, leaving no microplastic residues, making them ideal for food, pharmaceutical, and medical applications. Our project evaluates the filtration efficiency, physical performance, and practical applicability of LENZING™ filter cloth compared to conventional plastic based woven and non-woven fabrics. The goal is to demonstrate LENZING™ fiber’s potential as a high-performance, economical, and eco-friendly alternative enabling effective filtration without plastic.
