With qCella's flexible, paper-thin and homogeneously heating mat, the heating of vehicle seats, vehicle interiors, clothing, shoes and pain-relieving products is made more energy-efficient. In addition, the qCella heating mat can be more easily and cost-effectively integrated into end products. To fabricate the qCella heating mats, we use a new patent-pending material: copper inside cellulose hybrid fibers.

Murielle Schreck (qCella AG)
Today, we waste energy heating entire rooms and car interiors for warmth, it would be much more energy efficient to heat the air around people or the people themselves. At qCella, we make the heating of products such as heated car seats, car interiors, clothing, shoes and pain-relieving products more energy efficient. All these products are important parts of booming industries such as electric vehicles and wearable heating. With qCella's easily shape-customizable, flexible and paper-thin heating mat, we combine homogeneous heating with design flexibility and robustness like no other product heating solution on the market. The qCella heating mats are made of common cellulose fibers that are completely filled with copper. This unique way of combining insulating cellulose fibers with an electrical conductor results in the right resistance for resistance heating. We manufacture our heating mats from our patent-pending material in the same way as one produces paper. Because this paper-like structure is made completely of our copper inside cellulose fibers, it heats up homogeneously over the entire area. Wood-derived cellulose fibers are renewable and copper is easily accessible. A lamination provides mechanical stability and water resistance without compromising the heating application.
