Eco-Friendly Fiber Innovation: Chlorohemp Agrotech is redefining sustainable textile production by growing Himalayan hemp, which requires significantly less water and no fertilizer compared to traditional crops, using it to create high-quality, cotton-like fibers through an innovative cottonisation process. Empowering Local Communities: By partnering with small farmers and villages in the Himalayas, Chlorohemp Agrotech not only introduces a viable cash crop through hemp cultivation but also enhances local incomes and economic stability, contributing to rural development and sustainability. Sustainable Agricultural Revolution: Our unique degumming and cottonisation techniques, which are pending patent approval, are implemented in a first of its kind facility with a capacity of six tonnes/day, designed to optimise the quality and sustainability of the hemp fiber. We are minimising the ecological footprint of fiber production and maximising the socio-economic benefits for local farming communities.

Raghavendra Singh (Chlorohemp Agrotech Pvt Ltd)
Chlorohemp Agrotech is working towards being at the forefront of natural fibre innovation in India by scaling the nascent Indian hemp industry, by introducing a groundbreaking approach to the cultivation and processing of Himalayan hemp. Our process involves working closely with local farmers in the Himalayan region to grow hemp sustainably, followed by a series of advanced processing steps that transform the raw hemp into fine, cotton-like fibre. This process, known as cottonisation, involves proprietary degumming and refining techniques currently undergoing the patent process, ensuring that our methods are not only innovative but also protected by intellectual property rights. The establishment of a 6 tonne capacity plant, dedicated solely to this cottonisation process, marks the first of its kind in the industry and underscores our commitment to leading the charge in sustainable textile manufacturing. Our efforts align with global sustainability goals by reducing the environmental impact of fibre production and supporting local communities economically. The paper will detail the specific methods used in the farming, decortication, and cottonisation stages, emphasising the scalability and efficiency of our techniques. We will also discuss the potential applications of our cotton-like hemp fibres in various textile products, highlighting their superior qualities in terms of durability, comfort, and environmental footprint. Furthermore, the paper will explore the challenges faced during the implementation of these innovative processes and how Chlorohemp Agrotech has addressed these challenges to ensure successful operations. Finally, we will present a case study demonstrating the successful integration of our fibres into commercial products, paving the way for a new era in sustainable textiles. Through this presentation, Chlorohemp Agrotech aims to share its achievements and inspire further advancements in the natural fibre sector, promoting a more sustainable future for the textile industry worldwide.
