The apparel industry is facing a large environmental issue that needs to quickly be addressed.  Sustainability has become a major focus for brands in the past 10 years, with many focused on bringing recycled products to the market.  However, there are many other areas that should also be looked at in order to attack the largest issues of water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, micro-shedding and “disposable” fashion.  At Nilit we have pioneered ways to make Nylon 6.6 yarns more sustainable by delivering solutions that:

  • Reduce waste through recycled and bio-degradable innovations
  • Lower Life Cycle Assessment by reducing dependency on fossil resources
  • Preserve water through a solution dyed process
  • Deliver products that are comfortable with high performance and will last a long time, reducing the amount of times someone needs to replace their garment

All of this is done through a Total Product Sustainability Criteria that ensures carbon foot print reduction, saves energy, works towards zero waste management, conserves water and ensures safe and respectful working environments
