Suitable combat suits are crucial for the survival and assertiveness of soldiers in combat. In addition to a sophisticated design of the combat suits, textile properties are of enormous importance. The aim of this presentation is first to highlight the requirements of a combat suit and then to show the key properties of Kermel fiber that contribute to the safety of soldiers. Even if the protection of the soldiers is the main focus, comfort and functionality requirements also play an important role. Adequate and suitable combat suits are required to perform a wide range of tasks in the field, in vehicles, on ships, in aircraft, etc. In addition to the durable heat resistance of the Kermel fiber, it has many other important properties to meet the requirements of the soldier.
