Stricter manufacturing regulations, potential upcoming recycling quotas, and material restrictions are increasingly limiting the scope of action in the production of fabrics for PPE and workwear. At the same time, the performance requirements and standards for these products are increasing. How can these opposing demands be reconciled, what innovative changes are necessary, and what remains impossible from today’s perspective?

The presentation will provide an overview of upcoming changes in the context of the Green Deal and the associated legislative amendments. What impact will this have on the production of fabrics for PPE and workwear? What changes and innovations will allow for the reconciliation of these opposing demands? Using our own products and examples, we will demonstrate how sustainability and the production of functional, technical textiles can be aligned. Additionally, we will discuss the necessary framework conditions for a functioning circular economy and the limits of its implementation.
