Saentis Textiles / Kipas and E. Schellenberg Textildruck AG have developed workwear fabrics woven and knits for the canton and city of Zurich as well for the Swiss government using mechanical recycling technologies to recycle workwear and uniform garments to re-use the fibers for closed cycle projects and bring back workwear as well as uniform fabrics with recycled content.

Over the past 2-3 years we have developed a range of cotton/polyester blended yarns and fabrics using up to 50% post consumer content to reproduce workwear and uniform fabrics. Together with our partner Kipas and E. Schellenberg Textildruck AG, Fehraltdorf, Switzerland we developed cotton polyester woven fabrics and knits for the canton and city of Zurich as well as for the Swiss government. These fabrics contain up to 50% of post consumer work wear and uniform fabric, which are mechanically recycled and blended with pre-consumer recycled cotton as well as recycled polyester. The content of these fabrics is 100% recycled and we achieve similar results in respect to physical parameters as the original virgin fiber fabrics. Saentis with its partners is ready to introduce this technology to a wider range of end users. Dornbirn GFC would be a perfect platform to show the audience of textile experts the potential in the development of sustainable real recycling methods other than down cycling technologies which are already common.
