-We provide a biodegradation index for polymer materials in water, under site specific conditions that reflect the end of life of the product, whether that is in freshwater, seawater, tropical or polar waters. -The biodegradation index is based on fundamental biological dynamics in Nature. -We work with the client to reach a better biodegradation index if increased circularity of material is desired, through subtle chemical modifications post production.

I will present a new initiative from my start up company that provides a service to the polymer industry in delivering a realistic biodegradation index of polymer materials in water. The biodegradation index is based on bioreactors assessment along different time points, using ecosystem-specific microbial communities. Providing this biodegradation index will be an opportunity for the industry to improve the circularity of products and therefore increase its sustainability profile. We work at the interface of polymer chemistry and biomimicry, the science of learning from nature to design nature-based innovations. We are at the very beginning of our journey as a company but plan to provide key services to your business to make it more sustainable. This will include making this biodegradation index applicable across all polymers, being ecosystems relevant, to the point that it could be used to guide policies locally and internationally, and be meaningful to the consumers as well. I am looking forward to working with you to make it happen!
