Loris Maestri (Radici Yarn Spa)
RadiciGroup is one of the world’s leading producers of a wide range of chemical intermediates, polyamide polymers, high performance engineering polymers and advanced textile solutions, including nylon yarn, polyester yarn, either virgin, recycled or biobased. Our role in the European framework gives us the responsibility to look for new solutions to enhance the textile industry. Key aspects of the presentation will include successful best practices in LCA studies of our products, especially under the light of traceability. End consumers will be increasingly attentive to informed choices supported by easily usable data; by providing accurate results calculated through LCA methodology and deriving from a traced supply chain, companies will be able to respond to this need in a timely manner. Traceable products have a double way to ensure their history: physical traceability is boosted by the digital one, which could enable both textile manufacturers, brands and end-users to choose the most reliable suppliers. Traceability and sustainability are fundamental tools to proceed towards the EU path to a sustainable textile sector; together and strictly connected to the final products, they will grant reliability and support to consumers’ choices. Efforts on these topics meet the upcoming standards of European regulations and create a well-defined playing field.
