RUBIO - process development for PBS applications

The main research goal of this project implies the process development for PBS applications. Therefore, STFI e.V. in Chemnitz, Germany explored production potentials of PBS spunbonded nonwovens and the processing of PBS tapes made from films and spunbonded nonwovens. All gained knowledge will be prerequisite for industrial implementation at regional industrial project partners in central Germany.

Following tasks for STFI are derived from this objective: 1. Research into opportunities and limits of technological processing of stationery materials (granules, films, spunbonded nonwovens, tapes) into textile end products, 2. Research into technological parameters of processing and its resulting product parameters, 3. Development of one test rig for cutting and stretching of PBS films and PBS nonwovens, 4. Textile physical testing and evaluation of intermediate and final products. Comprehensive results of all research work will be content of this presentation.
