The Eco-design Regulation lies at the heart of the ambitious European Green Deal, aiming to steer the EU towards climate neutrality by 2050. Differing from its predecessor, this regulation extends its reach to cover nearly all physical products, ensuring a comprehensive consideration of environmental aspects. The innovative Digital Product Passport (DPP) stands out as a pivotal development in this context.
The DPP captures comprehensive product information throughout its entire lifecycle, including vital data such as CO2 footprint, material composition, and technical specifics. Facilitating its implementation is "Brain of Materials," a platform that not only streamlines administrative processes but also efficiently manages material data while ensuring regulatory compliance.
This synergy between the DPP and Eco-design Regulation not only fosters transparency in production and consumption but also bolsters the circular economy through increased utilization of recyclable materials. This trajectory paves the way for a sustainable and resource-efficient economy within the EU and beyond.
