Oerlikon Neumag Bicomponent Staple Fiber Spinning Technology - Platform for Fiber Innovation

Plant builder Oerlikon Neumag has introduced a unique Bicomponent Spinning Technology incorporating exact distribution and combination even of polymers with great difference in melt viscosity. This allows – in particular conjoined with a broad variety of spin capillaries – to offer a unique platform for innovative Staple Fibers in industrial production.

Looking back on a long history of building Bicomponent Staple Fiber Plants, Oerlikon Neumag has taken further steps to improve their Bicomponent spinning platform. Main Focus was set on equal melt distribution within the spin packs as well as most uniform quenching of the spun fibers. As result the new spinning system can operate with polymers that differ widely in melt viscosity. Combined with the availability of different spin capillary designs, Oerlikon Neumag offers an ideal innovation platform to the Staple Fiber Industry. In this speech Oerlikon Neumag´s newest Bicomponent System will be introduced as well as realized fiber designs will be shown.
